What is a Yoto Messenger?

Yoto Messenger is an application that lets users send Voice Notes directly to a Yoto playlist which can then be played by your children on their Yoto devices. It also allows children to respond to messages with one of a set of emojis using their Yoto device.

Who will be able to send messages to my Yoto?

Only phone numbers that you have added to your account via the Yoto Messenger web app can send messages to your special Yoto Messenger playlist.

Will I know if someone has sent a message?

Yes, as the account holder you will be sent a WhatsApp message whenever another member of your account sends a voice note.

Will I know when my child sends an emoji?

Yes, all members in the account (including you, as the account holder) will be sent the emoji message.

Can I delete voice notes?

Yes, you can manage the messages from the Yoto App as you would any other MYO playlist. The track title displays who sent each message and when.

I deleted the Yoto Messenger playlist - what do I do?

Fear not! When a new voice note is sent a new playlist will be recreated if the old one is missing.

Troubleshooting

I don't receive any WhatsApp messages

The first thing to check is that your message templates are set up correctly. If WhatsApp can't find a matching template then it will silently fail. You can also use the test setup in the WhatsApp API configuration page to send a test message to ensure it works from there.
